We spent the morning running through the booms with Chris of South Street Ministries and collecting 9 bags of trash and a TV at 143 pounds.
They will be assisting with cleaning out the booms going forward. Today was “training” with Chris so he can train his crews. Dave was here too but had to leave before pictures were taken!

OEPA has been on site and taking action with containment and investigation of the source. Excellent work by both the OEPA and City of Akron for their quick response and action.
No original source of the oil found, however, OEPA did clean up where it was collecting upstream at a trash dam (other side of Waterloo rd).
What we are seeing here is the residual. Fire department placed the soft booms with our trash booms to collect that. (Some placement adjustment is in order and being handled). Sorry for the late update, flu had knocked me on my can.
Cleaned out the trash boom on the canal south of Summit Lake and then a lap around the lake proper.
49 pounds of trash in 4 bags isn’t too bad for a 40 degree day in winter and this view was my reward!
