The afternoon of November 3, 2024, my wife and I strolled along Lake Anna as we often do. We immediately noticed an algal bloom on the water. This is about the same time as the bloom occurred last year.
I took photos and reported it to the OEPA per protocol. Took them a bit to get back to me with the response that the lake is private and will not take action but provided me with another link to report through another agency and I did that. Have not heard anything to the time…
Met Bob along the east side of Summit Lake today and collected about 55 pounds of trash from the booms on that side following yesterday’s rain.
Will hit the west side tomorrow along with Mud Run and Wolf Creek! Thanks Summit Metro Parks for picking up my bags!

New boom deployed in Norton on Wolf Creek!
This is a 5 minute video showing the process of building and installing a boom. We anticipate a pretty good volume of trash collected here and very grateful to Julie Miller and her husband for giving access to this location and the City of Norton who will be picking up our collected trash!

An absorption boom was noticed by Dave Stoler at the storm sewer outfall on the Tuscarawas river below the Wolf Creek trailhead.
He did not notice any substance in the water. Out of caution and past experiences especially in this location, we reported to OEPA and received a quick reply. Turns out, last week a Kimball truck had a hydraulic line issue and spilled a couple gallons of fluid on the ground upstream of this location. There…
