Who Are the Riverkeepers Ohio?
Formed in 2023 after the founder, James Carnahan aka OpaRuns, discovered and reported a major oil spill in the Tuscarawas River at the Wolf Creek Trailhead in Barberton, Ohio on July 6, 2023 while on his way to his favorite fishing hole.
Riverkeepers Ohio are a group of people who care about our environment and want to help to keep our waterways clean for future generations. We do that by picking up trash in and along the waterways, looking for ways to mitigate the trash and better ways to collect the trash. We continually watch for any kind of pollution or abuse of the waterways and report what we find when necessary.
