Thank you Summit Metro Parks for choosing Opa Runs to spotlight! π
I watch him put his heart and soul into this everyday and itβs nice to see people are taking notice. β₯οΈ James Carnahan

Have you ever developed an interesting way to help keep our green spaces and waterways clean? Stephanie, a naturalist at Summit Lake Nature Center, shares how one person did just that:
“Water conservation is a small term that describes a big job β including keeping our water clean and ensuring access to fresh water for generations to come. James Carnahan from Riverkeepers Ohio is no stranger to the work that goes into protecting our local waterbodies.
“James discovered a need for more hands and helpful hearts when he encountered an oil spill on his way to his favorite fishing spot along the Tuscarawas River. He then researched commercial trash booms and made a replica for a fraction of the cost. In the first three months of his booms being deployed, over one ton of trash was collected. Now, heβs bringing his efforts to Summit Lake.
