Contamination is still present.
Booms, ours and theirs, are containing the vast majority. Steady increase in volume. Will get back out Monday to put eyes on it and follow up with OEPA for next steps.

OEPA has been on site and taking action with containment and investigation of the source. Excellent work by both the OEPA and City of Akron for their quick response and action.
OEPA did visit this boom today. We have not heard what this is exactly. When we know, we will share. Did get about 30 pounds of trash out.
I followed up with OEPA stating what little they had done and today it appears the proper protection has been installed.
Flooding and ice broke the boom away as designed several weeks ago and today finally had the opportunity to put it back to work. Note, I do not have to get in the water for any of this, even when I forgot to hold the trow rope when I sent it sailing to the far…
Looks like the word made it to the folks working here. Some barriers have been put in place. Even with a soft voice, we can have impact.
OEPA was notified Wednesday and responded yesterday that they would look into it. Rains today and tomorrow…the system works slow. Wouldn’t it be better if folks just did the right thing instead of waiting for someone to tell them?
Made a round of the booms today. Pulled some trash from Mud Run and the canal boom just over 90 pounds. All the others are still locked in ice including Wolf Creek. That should break out tomorrow or Friday and we will try to get that one reset. Construction crews by the highway north of…
I pose a challenge in the video that you might have fun with Sherry, my wife the author, would do well with this and be able to tell a story just by looking at those tracks of what the animals were doing. It’s not all trash out here.
Thank you Jennifer Parker Zylkor for the pic sticks and rope from our Amazon wish list! We are planning a small kids event in April with Summit Metro Parks at the Nature Center. We plan on building a couple trash booms to deploy there on Summit lake and to pick up some trash!
