Sometimes ya just have to put it out there to help make it happen!
This is one of the MAJOR sources of trash coming into Summit Lake. I was out surveying outfalls from my kayak today. We already have two booms on the lake and with some collaboration, we should be deploying a few more on and around the lake soon. Did pull a bag of trash today.

Cleaned out the trash boom on the canal south of Summit Lake and then a lap around the lake proper.
49 pounds of trash in 4 bags isn’t too bad for a 40 degree day in winter and this view was my reward!

On 6 Sept, the Dover Chemical company in Dover was responsible for a toxic spill of a phenol based product into Sugar Creek (tributary to the Tuscarawas) resulting the immediate killing of fish.
There was no report to the public from them, local politicos, OEPA, ODNR or anyone for that mater. That is until George Wright ventured down to the creek on Sept 10th (4 days after the event) for some fishing only to find all the fish dead. He contacted the local fire department along with OEPA…

No original source of the oil found, however, OEPA did clean up where it was collecting upstream at a trash dam (other side of Waterloo rd).
What we are seeing here is the residual. Fire department placed the soft booms with our trash booms to collect that. (Some placement adjustment is in order and being handled). Sorry for the late update, flu had knocked me on my can.
