Booms, ours and theirs, are containing the vast majority. Steady increase in volume. Will get back out Monday to put eyes on it and follow up with OEPA for next steps.
Couple weeks ago Riverkeepers Ohio noticed the odd color to the bottom in the canal near a cleanup spot. Odd enough to notify the OEPA. OEPA has been on site and taking action with containment and investigation of the source. Excellent work by both the OEPA and City of Akron for their quick response and action.
Thanks to the three men I saw clearing the brush along the lake’s edge this morning. I missed the opportunity to talk with them but the results of their efforts are evident! Picked up 22 pounds of trash which isn’t bad considering the long weekend.
